Acceptable Use Policy

Effective date: 1 January 2026. Last updated: 1 January 2026.

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes the uses of TaxTask's services that are not permitted. It applies in addition to our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violation may result in suspension or termination of your account.

2. Prohibited Uses

You must not use the Service to:

  • Break the law. Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right, including tax, data protection, and anti-money-laundering laws.
  • Evade tax or commit fraud. Use the Service for tax evasion, fraud, money laundering, or to submit false or misleading information to tax authorities (including the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS)) or to us.
  • Harm others. Harass, abuse, defame, or threaten any person; distribute illegal, harmful, or offensive content.
  • Compromise security. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our or our providers' systems; probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without authorization; interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Introduce malicious code. Transmit viruses, malware, or other code designed to harm or disrupt.
  • Abuse the platform. Resell or sublicense the Service without our written consent; scrape, crawl, or automate access in a way that burdens our systems or violates our Terms; circumvent usage limits or access controls.
  • Infringe rights. Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of TaxTask or any third party.

3. User Content and Conduct

You are responsible for the content and data you submit. You must not submit content that is illegal, infringing, or that you do not have the right to use. We may remove content that we reasonably believe violates this AUP or our Terms, or that is harmful to others or the Service.

4. Security and Access

You must keep your account credentials secure and notify us promptly of any unauthorized access. You must not share your account with others in a way that violates your plan or our Terms. You must not attempt to access data or areas of the Service that you are not authorized to access.

5. Enforcement

We may, without liability to you:

  • Investigate suspected violations of this AUP
  • Remove or disable access to content that violates this AUP
  • Suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service
  • Report conduct to law enforcement or regulators where we believe necessary

We will generally try to contact you or give notice where appropriate before suspending or terminating, except where we believe delay would cause harm or we are required to act immediately by law.

6. Reporting

If you become aware of a violation of this AUP by another user or third party, or have concerns about content on the Service, please report it to us at [email protected] with a clear description and, if applicable, links or identifiers. We will review reports in line with our policies and applicable law.

7. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-product notice. Continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.
